A statue of one of the greatest kings of the Malla dynasty, Pratap Malla, sits on a tall stone piller. The inscription on the pillar: "There is no one like me, the pearl in the diadem of kings, neither in heaven nor on earth nor anywhere in the ten directions, nor in the hills and forests." The very pillar of modesty, don't you agree? He ruled from 1641 to 1674.
