The city of Cusco is the most importand tourist destination in Peru and one of the most famous in South America. Known by the Inca's as "the home of the gods", Cusco was the capital of one ofthe greatest pre-Hispanic empires: the Tahuantinsuyo. Its Quechau name, Qosqo, means "the naval of the world", because Cusco was the starting point of a vast netwoek system joining a large portion of South America, from Sothern Colombia to Northern Argentina.
