Hi all My apologies to Hunter S Thompson for the title of this blog but it is an apt description of some of the feelings you get in this town. It is an amazing town with high rollers & high kitsch and the place is vast and monumental in scale and bad taste dominates every nook & cranny! It all started in 1946 with the Flamingo hotel with Bugsy Siegal raising $7 million just to get the venture off the ground! Bugsy was later murdered by the mob soon after because he went over budget. He has a plaque dedicated to him in the hotel grounds. In the 1950's the military arrived apparently testing A bombs in the desert! We have spent the last two days in Las Vegas and it's about as much as we can take at the moment. We have explored a large area looking at different hotels like Caesars Palace & the Bellagio to name but a few. The Strip is the road where all the hotels are located and is about 5 miles in length and has a monorail you can travel up and down on to save your legs. It is very hot here desert hot so you are forced to stay in the air cooled interiors as much as you can. This city never sleeps and everwhere stays open 24 hours a day! You either love or hate Las Vegas but one thing is for sure its an experience you will never quite forget! G&V image/jpeg Let your email find you with BlackBerry from Vodafone.
