From what I read, the trigger fish's territory expands in a cone upwards from its home. So swimming down and away is the quickest way to get out of their territory. Swimming upwards has the opposite effect. The safest route would require going against a person's natural instinct to head for the surface when the fish became aggressive and instead head downwards even if it was actually closer to the fish's home. Peculiar huh?

Does it make your adrenalin pump?
Rightly (but I think wrongly) I am not scared of them.

Seeing a trigger fish now (the one who bit me) freaks me out!
