Of all the towns and cities we have been to, Lucerne has made the best use of its water front by far, so many others are really ugly because of industrial stuff but this area was gorgeous and full of pretty swans and boats

You know where else has a good waterfront? Sydney! Perhaps you could go there next?
I remember being really struck by how clean the river was, we would gaze into the deep clear water and watch cat fish swimming at the bottom!
The Swiss are certainly good at clean and tidy - I remember we felt so scruffy and unkempt there (although we had fitted right in in Italy... lol).
