After having got excited at having seen 2 small herds of these wild vicuñas about half a mile away and tried to photograph them with telephoto lens, we came across these almost at the side of the road. A vicuña scarf costs only US$800!!! They can only shave 250g every two years off a vicuña´s back (and that´s when they´ve managed to catch it.)
