I don't know much about the social welfare here, but as in many big cities you'll see beggars or homeless. Some beggars here are remarkable because of the way they try to get that extra buck. The guy in the pic has two big rubber inner tubes of a tire wrapped around his legs and in front of him a tape recorder playing obnoxious music. My friend told me he's a professional beggar. MMmm, I would like to see his resume. Another beggar I see regularly in Cheongju just takes some cardboard and lays down in the middle of the streets and sleeps. People must have stumbled over her in that narrow street.
