After a tough 350m ascent we arrived in Ghyaru, where the views were spectacular. We stayed there overnight so we could catch the morning views, as the clouds tended to come in in the afternoon. By this time we'd teamed up with some other trekkers, two Canadians, Ryan and Blair, and Vicki from London. This far into the trek we were looking for some variation to our diet, which had consisted of Dal Bhat and more Dal Bhat (Rice with lentils, plus potato curry if we were lucky) and demanded some meat. Most of the locals are Buddhists. However, the next thing we knew a Yak had died in an unfortunate accident. We ate some anyway, and it was very nice.
This is a top pick!
