Thanks for the photos. I spent three days in Dahuk in and the border crossing to southern Turkeye, in 2003. I wasn't a tourist but I took advantage of the fact that I was there to be one anyway. After leaving there, I found myself wishing I could go back and stay for a few more days at least. I wanted to sit and talk with the local Kurds more. Kirdistan/Iraq was a wonderful and complicated place but I miss it and wish I could go back.

I spent some time in dahuk and you captured it beautifully! One photo I wish you'd gotten because I didn't...the statues in the middle of the traffic circles. Loved the bryani, didn't you?
