The Bank of Japan Building was near the A-Bomb epicenter, but it suffered little structural damage. It has been used as a community art center, with special exhibits (often related to peace) and many rooms used to store the chains of origami paper cranes donated by children from all over the world. The building is now under renovation and the paper cranes are temporarily being stored at the Hiroshima Carp Baseball Stadium just north of Peace Park. The Carp have moved to a newly built stadium.
