I went for a kefta tajine, hoping it would be as good as the one I had at Restaurant Bouayad in Fes, but it fell well short. The meatballs weren't as tasty, the egg was overcooked and rubbery, and there wasn't much sauce to begin with, and even less when most of it dried up on the too-hot tajine. The waiter told me it was a specialty of Chefchaouen, but apparently it isn't the specialty of the restaurant! It did provide some entertainment for us, as the tajine was so hot and bubbling that it made the egg pulse like a beating heart.
