After a loooooong 16 hour bus ride from Afyon in west-central Turkey we arrived in Erzurum. Ozgur's step-dad Suleyman was there to meet us at the otogar (bus station) and welcomed us heartily. He then brought us to this diner for a well-needed bite. The poster on the wall shows the sights in Erzurum and surrounding region. There is a ski hill in the area which is apparently quite good. It serves as a ski-destination for boarders and skiers from throughout Turkey. Next time here, if there is enough snow, I'm definitely going to give it a go. This time around, we were unfortunately too early in the season to hit the slopes. Erzurum made the national news one day last week, however, because it received 10 centimetres of snow, marking the fact that that the ski-season is just around the corner.
