unlike Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Fin in the book, my son does not dare go in to the Mississippi River on a raft. There are many strong currents. A walk is always a fun favorite activity for many families here. There are small parks along the bike path that runs many miles up and down the Mississippi River through Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa.
