The oldest miso and tamari brewer of Taketoyo is the Deguchis of Oashi District. They founded their brewery in 1829. As of 1872, there were 14 brewers in the district and the number of brewers and the volume of production were the largest in the Chita Peninsula. Thanks to the Taketoyo Line and Taketoyo Port, the distribution route of materials and products was established and the industry rapidly expanded. The products were exported to Kanto, Kansai, and Chubu Regions and more than 80% of the products were consumed in Nagoya.
