Everyone comes to the Dead Sea to relax and unwind. You can float out about 20 or 30 meters without any trouble. There are no boats allowed on the sea and the guards keep watch to see how far you are floating out to sea. The other side is Pallestine (Isreal) and there's a few other resorts on the other side which you can see at night, but there's definitely a "no-go" zone between the two countries.
