We stopped at a "tourist trap" where they fabricate real papyrus paper through the process shown here. They then make prints and color by hand to create works of art! Needless to say I bought a few prints, one of which is shown in the back (Judgement of the Dead!)

Hi! Cherrygal,

If I remember correctly, because it has been awhile, it was a little off the beaten path and my guide took me there. However, I have looked at my notes and "Abracadabra!" found the name and address of the place.

Sandallia Papyrus
Sadat St. - Aswan P.O. Box 68
Tel + Fax: 097 - 2302558

Come to think of it, I think the papyrus is real but I believe they may make a template print first and then add some of the coloring details by hand because I saw some variations between each. Regardless, for what it's worth, it looks GREAT! , framed in my dinning room. ;-)

Cheers & Good luck!

MartinC
