We took the dogs out late at night and at first it looked like the sky was filled with smoke, but when we stepped out of the porch light into the darkness we could see the 'smoke' was actually aurora fire. Bright green and yellow trails swirled in the sky. So we took a drive and captured this picture just outside the city of Yellowknife.
