Bull imagery is everywhere in ancient Crete. (Recall the story of the Minotaur, half man and half bull, which the mythological King Minos kept in a labyrinth under his palace.) This fresco has made scholars wonder if bull dancing, jumping, or some other display with bulls might actually have been taking place in ancient times.
