not all Turkish women are head covered you know, just adding 2 women with headscarfs from your trip to Turkey will never reflect our country as an islamic country because we are not, we are democratic, secular, modern and definitely sexy!

Filiz's comment is very offensive and a ridiculous comment to make in the first place. Nobody here was making a point that Turkey is Islamic. It was about two random women seen in a Turkish street. There are lots of women in Turkey who would wear a bikini in public any day. Similarly there are lots of women in Turkey who would properly cover themselves up according to Islamic tradition. secularism can not be forced on people. Mr/Ms. Filiz seems to be suffering from inferiority complex. Grow up and mind your own business. I am sure the husband of these women also find them attractive and sexy. It's just they are not interested to show their beauty and sexiness to outsiders, which is completely fair.

It is sad that a person feels the need to be so defensive and seems ashamed of covered women in Turkey! - seeing the women there in the beautiful hijabs with all the amazing styles is one of the highlights of visiting Turkey! It's part of the countries identity and there are many modern hijab wearing women there! Better to educate people in the knowledge that in Turkey , modern muslim women are strong minded and passionate about their beliefs - not the rules that 'men' have set them. The world is full of women living with the constant pressure of dressing in tiny outfits in order to 'look good' . It makes a refreshing change to see women in a country who do not have the pressure and need to dress half naked and yet still have great style. Surely this is the modern way forward and something to celebrate!

Don't bother with filizs comment. Unfortunately there are many offensive and ridiculous people like the one above in Turkey. Actually the only bad thing about Turkey is this situation. What a pity that they don't have any true idea about democracy or freedom. I hope one they they will take all their complexes with them and move to that stupid place which they dream about and leave us alone in our happy country.
