Wayne and I arrived by Greyhound bus into New York at 5.30am so dumped our bags at the hostel Jazz on the Park and walked down the end of the block to Central Park. We walked into the park which I thought was crazy as I thought it was unsafe. As it turned out there were heaps of people jogging, walking and loads of dog walkers. As dawn broke it got more and more beautiful as there are lakes in the park, loads of birds and squirrels and so so many poeple getting out and doing their pre work stuff. We were so happy tobe experiencing it at dawn. We walked a good 2 hours north to south and ended up near 5th Ave and I had a yummy New York bagel with cream cheese and lox( smoked salmon.We loved New York and felt completely safe there.
