We loved Barcelona but, after a quick 3 day tour, it was time to move on. So we left sunny and 70 degrees and went to cloudy and 50 degree Genoa in northern Italy. We were simply curious about this city (birthplace of Cristofor Colombo). It's a port city and in its art and architecture is more neo-classical than Renaissance (like Florence) or Roman (like Rome) or Etruscan (like Perugia). Since the weather was nasty, we spent most of our one day there in 3 different museums. Then we found a very authentic, non-tourist, restaurant and had a wonderful dinner amongst the loud clanking of dishes and raucous conversation of the locals.
