A neat little square in downtown Cairo, Talat Harb is the square kitty corner from the Cosmopolitan Hotel. It has many nondescript shops, several excellent restaurants, and is a high density tourist area. Which is not necessarily a bad thing. The people are used to tourists, so feel free to flaunt your Westerness here; you won't feel out of place, although if you wear shorts you are destined to be subjected to countless sales pitches.
