ON our first day we went on a free tour and these ruins are the only ones left in all of London from the first century ad when the romans occupied the land. The romans adopted the Persian God "Mithras" as their own and these ruins are of a temple they built to worship him. An interesting anecdote, December 25th was actually originally a day when Persians celebrated Mithras and it was later adopted by christians as a logical day to celebrate the birth of christ.
