25. Kigali market
Danny's housekeeper, Francine, took us to the market one day to go grocery shopping. When we arrived, we were swarmed by local boys pounding our car as if we were rock stars. I thought they were just curious about the muhzoongas (tourists) but, as soon as they found out Francine had the money, we became about as interesting as the dirt you see here. These boys are looking for work and they just want to carry your bags for you and fetch groceries while you shop ... all for a price, of course. They sold everything here. What got me most was the butcher shops. They cut the meat with machetes, an eerie thought considering that was the weapon of choice during the genocide.
