Nestled smack dab in the middle of the city just before the Opera House is Sydney's Royal Botanic Gardens. This green oasis in the midst of urban sprawl puts Central Park in NYC to shame. Look closely at the picture and in flight you will see one of Sydney's notorious giant fruit bats. Austin's Congress Street bats got nothing on this dog-sized rodent. There is a colony of thousands that live in the Botanic Gardens alone and they hang from the trees in plain view snoozing away in a high-pitch snore.
