Yingge is famous for making pottery, and as the industry has dwindled due to mass production, has increasingly turned to tourism. This is Yingge's "old street", a tourist development of shops, cafes and galleries. It's pretty to walk around, but it really is just glorified tourist tat. You never see the Taiwanese walking around eating a piece of fruit normally, it has to be chopped up and skewered, and preferably covered in liquid sugar.
