I had planned on taking my time to get the series of images from which this image was taken. My friend and I hopped the barbed wire fence and he walked around shooting while I slowly set up my Hasselblad on my tripod. The bugs were all over. We had rolled down our sleeves, turned up our collars, and tried to cover every bit of exposed skin. It wasn't working. The mosquitoes were just too many. After 30 seconds of fighting the swarms, I had to forgo the tripod, switch to my handheld 35mm, and run around like a madman just to get a few decent shots before the skeeters tapped me dry. I consider myself very fortunate to have gotten this image.
This is a top pick!
