These lilipads are about the diameter of a bass drum. Notice the white flower, which only lasts one day once it blooms. The prickly thing next to is a lilipad that is not yet full grown, the thorns protect it from predators. These lilipads can withold up to 50 pounds if you spread the weight out evenly over the leaves.
