It took us a while to realize what was going on the day Sydney was hit by a duststorm. Everything was covered in an unearthly light, changing from deep red to orange to pastel-colored. After a visit to our favorite beach we went downtown. From the opera, Harour bridge could hardly be seen. It was hard to find some space that wasn`t occupied by photographers. I wanted to get birds in the foreground of my picture, so I kept searching around. I was lucky: A woman was feeding the gulls, which were hovering in front of her. I was glad that I had finally switched to digital photography last year - it took me a while to get this shot. :)
This is a top pick!

Unbelievable picture! Nice work!
Thanks! :) I was trying to get some birds into the picture as a contrast to the Harbour bridge that was enveiled in Sydney`s sandstorm. After I while I was lucky: I found a woman feeding the gulls.
I have some more pictures, but somehow I can`t upload them at the moment, maybe the page is too busy.
Hmmmm... maybe I can find a way to get some money out of some of the pictures? Our travel plans are still big, flying into Chile next month, and Australia`s distances ate up more of our budget than we thought...
I am glad you like the picture! :)
I agree...beautiful shot .... to grab those birds at that moment of flight is awesome!
Thanks! :) I am glad I switched to digital photography last year. I wouldn`t have had the money to take this picture before - it took me a few tries to get it right. I think about cutting the lower edge because that disturbs the picture. But than again this feels a bit like cheating, since this is the shot as I got it. Well... :)
It's beautiful as is or if you edit it. I'm going to put it up in the feature queue on Travelpod!
Wow, I feel honored! :) I decided to leave the picture as is. No cheating by cropping. ;) And I don`t want to loose the diagonal lower fence line.
Those photographs are super lindas!!!
