Akraberg is the southernmost place in Suðuroy and in The Faroe Islands. You can not call it a village, because nobody lives there. But there used to live a few families there. The last one moved away in 1988 after the Christmas Hurricane. The lighthouse in Akraberg was built in 1909. Akraberg has rich birdlife and breathtaking vertical cliffs.
