This is the road which leads to the west coast from Sandvík. There is a very beautiful place if you go towards west to the place near Ásmundarstakk, there are many place names, Lambhagin, Rituskor and Glyvrabergsgjógv are some of them. Sandvík is the northernmost village in the island Suđuroy in the Faroes. The population is around 100. Sandvík has a Viking history. Sigmundur Brestisson, a Viking chief, was swimming from the island Skúvoy to Sandvík, where he was killed by Torgrímur Illi (Torgrimur the Mean). There is a monument raised in Sandvík over Sigmund Brestisson, the monument is made by Hans Pauli Olsen.
