Vágur is the second largest town/village in the island Suðuroy, which is the southernmost of the Faroe Islands. Vágur is situated around the fjord Vágsfjørður in the southern part of the island, between the villages Nes and Lopra. The population is around 1400. This photo is taken from a farmers path above the village, view towards west. Did you notice that the North Atlantic Ocean is to both sides of the village, both to the east and to the west? And in between there is a lake. Between the lake and the west coast are the sports hall and the football field. The island is long from north-west to south east, and very narrow where the fjords are, especially where the villages Vágur, Lopra and Hvalba are situated.
