This street in Porkeri is called Skiparavegur because when they were built around 100 years ago or more, most of the owners were captains (skipper) on one of the Faroese ships, and they could afford to build their houses a little bit bigger than others. Porkeri is a charming little village in the southernmost of the islands in the Faroes. The population is around 330.
