These bells fell during the British bombing of Lubeck in 1942. The Britts did only one bombing run on this city. The cathedrals and churches took a lot of damage. However the only thing lost were the roofs and the spires. The brick work form the 1200's lasted! Another interesting thought on this is that funny how citizens were a target in WWII. That would not fly today!
