The equivalent of the Alpine ecosystem for the Andes is the Paramo. Unlike what we get in the Canadian north however, the plants here generate hundreds of flowers and therefore the place is full of very specialized birds including amazing hummingbirds like the bearded helmetcrest (you should google this bird!)
