Here, Sam is demonstrating the universal "no no" gesture in Brazil, and perhaps in South America in general now that I think about it. It is amazing how quickly people (ie beggers, vendors, etc) will leave you alone when you do this, whereas they will bug you forever when you simply say no and make excuses. Here we were receiving a severe no no for playing with the peas displayed in the bowl. Who the hell puts canned peas in burgers anyways?!
