We decided to splurge and stay in Hotel Salta for our last two nights, this gorgeous four-star neo-colonial hotel on the corner of the plaza with a swimming pool (that we didn't get to enjoy, as it was nasty out from Friday onwards). It was 35 bucks each, but totally worth it, especially since the guy at reception decided to be nice and upgrade us to a suite at no extra cost!
