It took about a week to finish the painting which consists mostly of oil based washes which were created with an all purpose thinner. I know the life of this painting will suffer as a result, but any sort of painting medium proved impossible to locate. I suppose it was a blessing in diguise as the washes dried almost immediately forcing me to work with greater speed and confidence. The textured look of the strokes gives the painting greater power and personality in my opinion and I am happy with the outcome.
