Grand Place (big square) is the chocolate and beer baited tourist center of Brussels. Around it are lots of merchant guilds many of which have been there from the 16th century - you can tell the quality of the guild, by the quality of their building. We spent spent some time in the Brewers guild hall whihc is where the beer weekend was organized from. There is a Royal Residence on one side of the square.
