....the centre piece of the Amankora Punakha lodge. The farmhouse and the surrounding land are owned by one of the 4th king's sisters. Most of the land is leased to farmers who pay half their rice crop in rent. The Aman hotel group leases the farmhouse and has built an 8-bedroomed lodge around it. Each of the three Amankora lodges we stayed at in Bhutan were different, but Punakha was the best.
