Video from Thaipusam festival in Singapore where devotees carry metal or wooden frames attached to their bodies with hooks or spikes over a 4km course. They do this in order to ask the Lord Subramanium for a favour, or give thanks for a favour they have recieved. This takes place in Little India every year at this time. Although the spikes look scary, it is said that the participants feel no pain.
