Hotel Casa de los Abuelos, Carrera 6 No. 5-11, Tel: +57 ( ) 851-1311. I chose to stay here which is located half a block from the plaza; the modern tiled rooms were spotless and offered very comfy beds/pillows, private bathrooms, TV and a table and chair. The hotel is under a year old and I couldn't pick a single fault with the hotel or its staff. The majority of the fourteen rooms are set back from the road over two levels to ensure a peaceful night's sleep; they face on to a mini lawn and open-covered lounging/dining area which has a mounted 32" LCD with Direct TV - as the TV's in the rooms have limited amount of cable channels. Their advertised rates were 25,000 and 45,000 pesos for 1 or 2 persons which are excellent value; although I offered 20,000 pesos and they accepted without any hassle. They also provide free tea, coffee and purified water, as well as laundry facilities; I gave them a load and it was the best wash my clothes had received in eight months, on top of this they didn't want to charge me, and, the lady insisted on them being ironed! Iron I asked, what's that? They should also have internet and Wi-Fi within the next month.
