A totally amazing sight from anywhere in Jodphur. A visit to Meranghar is a must. They have the best audioguide I have ever heard. It combines heaps of historical fact with narratives by the current Maharaja, his mother who came to the Fort as a purdah bride of 16, his wife, son and daughter. Tiny anecdotes bring the Fort to life, whilst top quality Indian ragas play in the background.
