My mom and I both loved reading the Laura Ingalls Wilder books growing up... now we're off on a 10-day road trip to visit the landmark sites from the books and explore "living history" museums and cultural spots along the way. Our trip includes stops in: Pepin, Wisconsin (Laura's Birthplace and site of "Little House in the Big Woods"), Walnut Grove, Minnesota (site of "On the Banks of Plum Creek"), Burr Oak, Iowa (site of Ingalls Family Home), and DeSmet, South Dakota (site of "Little Town on the Prairie").
