Hello and welcome to my travel blog!

I am taking advantage of my "planned" siesta between jobs, and going on a six week Grand Tour of Europe (England not included). I'll be backpacking through most of Western Europe, staying in hostels and traveling via rail. Destinations include Spain, Portugal, Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, and France.

I've decided that instead of spending time sending multitudes of emails and postcards, I will update this travel blog instead. That way everyone can keep track of where I am and what I'm doing.

I'm taking a laptop with me, so the plan is to find internet cafes everywhere I go and keep this updated, hopefully every day when possible. But my itinerary is packed in places, so we'll see.
