This trip is to celebrate our 20th anniversary. My husband and I will leave Vancouver on August 17 flying to Venice where we will spend 4 nights at the Bauer Hotel and then on the 21st board the Ruby Princess and cruise the Mediterranean for 12 nights. We will visit Athens, Mikonos, Rome, Florence, Naples, Istambul, Kusadasi, Monte Carlo and end up in Barcelona from where we will fly to Cairo. From Cairo, we will travel to the Baharyia Oasis where we will stay at the Minamar Hotel. The next day we go the black and white deserts and sleep in a tent. From there we return to Cairo and then fly to Luxor where we board a Nile cruise ship. We then sail to Aswan, spending 4 nights on the ship. On the 5th day we fly back to Cairo where we spend a few days visiting. We then fly to Munich and spend 4 nights there at the Sofitel Hotel. While we are there we do a day trip to Salzbourg, Austria. We fly back to Canada on September 17.
I am concerned about the night we spend in the desert in a tent. I'm afraid of scorpions and scarabs. I know scarabs can't hurt us, but the yellow scorpions are deadly. If anyone's done this tour, can you please share your experiences? I'm also concerned about having to go to the bathroom in the desert. Do you have any tips? We are travelling with Safariegypt. Does anyone know of this company?
