Growing up in Israel, I remember shocking my high school teacher and classmates during our "Homeland" class, saying that our purpose in life is not to be attached to one piece of land but rather to travel and explore all corners of the earth. More than 20 years later, as I'm getting ready to embark on a six-month trip to SE Asia, I'm aware that the journey I'm truly interested in is inwards.
