Wheresgordon's Drive to Alaska
About this blog
This trip has several parts. First, I'll fly out to Las Vegas and meet a friend. We're going to take a class at Front Sight and climb Boundary Peak, the highest point in Nevada. Then I'll drop him off at the Las Vegas airport and go climb Humphreys Peak, the highest point in Arizona, by myself before flying home.
Then I'll hop in the car and drive across the northern US stopping at a lot of national parks and state capitol buildings. After reaching Washington I'll head north into British Columbia. I'll drive to Prince Rupert to catch a ferry to Alaska.
I'll spend around six weeks in Alaska. I'll be visiting six of their national parks where I'll kayak, backpack, camp and take boat tours, flightseeing trips and mountaineering classes.
I'll drive back from Alaska and head for the Telluride Mushroom Festival. Next will be Burning Man. I'll visit more national parks and state capitol buildings and then finish the trip by going to the Albuuerque International Balloon Fiesta.
