I spent February - August 2003 in New Zealand, living and working in Invercargill at the southernmost tip of the South Island. It's pretty remote, but an ideal base for weekend trips to some of the most inspiring scenery New Zealand has to offer. Our adventurous circle of friends was keen on outdoor pursuits from hiking and skiing to skydiving and offroad driving. While there I also learned to dive in Fiji. I shared a house with Kathryn with whom I traveled through New Zealand from August till October...a memorable trip on which I met my future wife! I then traveled around Australia for a month - on a shoestring after I'd blown my entire salary on crazy stuff in New Zealand... Blog consists of emails from the time in German and English
