About this blog

Along the Adriatic Coast, across from Italy, lie beautiful countries that are relatively undiscovered. They are full of Roman ruins, medieval cities, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and gorgeous natural beauty. We visit Kotor, a medieval city in Montenegro on a stunning bay. Dubrovnik in Croatia is one of those beautiful places that call you back again and again. George Bernard Shaw visited the city in 1929, and wrote: "If you want to see heaven on earth, come to Dubrovnik." Just up the coast is the town of Split where in the year 305 the Roman Emperor Diocletian build his palace, one of the most outstanding classical remains in Europe. We'll visit beautiful National Parks on the northward journey to Zagreb, ending our tour in the picturesque country of Slovenia with magical Lake Bled and its medieval fairy-tale capital of Ljubljana. You'll be hankering to see more of these Balkan Beauties!
